Hi,

Is there a relationship between the LA cars and DC Metro cars?

Both systems make use of cars made by (or in part by) Breda and Siemens.

Los Angeles really tried to model their system after DC. We even have a Metro Center station. All of the early promotional videos feature WMATA and not NYCT.
